JOYCE'S TECHNIQUE IN EVELINE

J. Joyce in
his collection of short stories uses third person narrator adopting free
indirect speech.  As a consequence the
writer permits to the reader to make personal judjements on the characters,
also with the eclipse of the narrator. Nevertheless  in the short story "Eveline"
the protagonist watches the various scenes about the place throught the window
and J. Joyce describes all her feelings adopting her point of view.
