The three text I analised are critical reviews about the new book Tweet di un discorso amoroso by Roberto Cortoneo. It deals with the thoughts of the people who reflect about their life, reflections to the web and to love on Twitter and Facebook, it is a “book-stream of consciousness”. This is the definition of this book in Manila Benedetto’s review, while in Elisabetta Stefanelli’s review it is a moving and poetic tale where love is only a final sensation and there are no past and present, in particulary past and present are simultaneous and there is only the interior time.
In the third review there are some quotations. All these texts speak about love and the new type of life on the social network, where you can write your thoughts, sensations and feelings in few words.
Are there some differences between this and the dramatic monologue? Yes, not about the themes and the contents, but as regard the structure.
Today we wrote thoughts in few lines oh the web and they can be missing, while poets, like T. S. Eliot, used a lots of stanzas and lines to express their feelings.
In both cases poets and people speak about love and feelings and they need to express them, but in Facebook people take some quotations from writers or famous characters and copy them, while poets express their real feelings.
