Tweet di un discorso amoroso is a novel by Roberto Cotroneo, which focuses on the analysis of a court through social networks. The book does not follow a plot, but it consists of a set of thoughts that make us reflect on the way we communicate in our society.

Cotroneo associates the fragmentary amorous conversation happened on Twitter to fragments of A Lover's Discourse by Roland Barthes.

In particular, the talk takes a special significance, since it is structured as a soliloqui, impressed in a web page.

The set of tweets then becomes like a diary, capable of expressing the interiority of the subject, which is fused between reality and fiction.

Similarly in which it occurs in the work of Barthes, the "soliloquy" of the lovers is fragmented in blocks, and analyzed. The speech can be compared with dramatic monologue, in which the two protagonists of the tweet represent the dramatis personae.

The subconscious of the protagonists is expressed in front of the audience through the tweet.

The two lovers can’t fully understand that their feelings and their interiority can be seen by everybody, so they talk freely, also lying to themselves as Prufrock did.
