It's the
first section of WasteLand.It'smade up of four parts ,each apparently told from
the pospective of a different speaker. The first is the autobiographical
account of the childood of an aristocratic woman. She remembers slugging during
 her childhood and she claims to be
German and not to Rushian. She mixes a meditation on the season with remarks on
the barren state of her current existence. The second part is a prophetic
invitation to journey into a desert waste. The prophetic tone is mixed with childhood
memories about a girl filtred through a quotation from Wagner's version of "Tristan
und Isolde"a tail about adultery  and
loss. The third episode describes animmaginative Tarot reading. The final episode
of the section is the most surreal:the speaker walks through a London populated
by ghosts of the dead. The speaker asks the ghostly figure Statson about the
fait of a corpse planted in his garden.
