QUOTATIONS

Human beings have always something to reach. The objectives of the research are very different and change according to the moment of life they’re living. For example, as you can read in this quotation "Le regole dell'attrazione le cercano tutti. Ma sono le regole della distrazione quelle più interessanti e non le cerca nessuno", human beings have some shared targets. Instead, there are others, maybe more difficult to reach, that nobody pursuit. So, the quotation expresses human beings’ need to have something as soon as possible, maybe not understanding if you reach easy goals, your happiness will last less instead of reaching harder goals.

So, the human nature is very complex and contradictory.  As you can comprehend reading this quotation "Il senso della misura è incommensurabile, in questa modernità", nothing is defined and everything change according to people. Indeed the quotation is built upon an oxymoron. The meaning of the word “misura” is repeated in a negative form as an adjective. So, everything is annulled, and at the same time everything is confirmed.

Sometimes the pursuit can be interrupted by the time. Indeed our life does not last forever. So,"I ricordi indietreggiano sempre: come fa il tempo quando lo va a cercare. Poi quando li metti con le spalle al muro sanno raccontarti tutto". It’s very difficult to remember something that can hurt us as it is very difficult to find the time to do something considered boring. But, when you isolate a remember and you understand its true nature you can understand what was wrong with it.

The last quotation is "Ma del pericolo dell'anti-letteratura si è accorto qualcuno? E non è altrettanto grave?".

It seems as if the speaking voice made a warning to the readers, inviting them to reflect on the importance of the topic of literature. Indeed, the speaking voice, using the word “qualcuno” , is appealing to the intelligent reader, inviting him/her to comprehend the true nature of literature.  What’s more, the speaking voice alerts everybody about the danger hidden behind the rejection of writing and thinking.

The last quotation is the more private one since it uses questions and it appeals directly to the reader. On the other hand, the other quotations do not build a direct relation with the reader. They use an impersonal language, a universal way of writing and finally the use of metaphor is very frequent.
So, in conclusion, the theme of the research is the leit-motive of the quotations. Human beings will continue pursuing something they need. It’s the human nature that allows this process. And, literature is a way to reach these objectives thanks to the power of language.
