In the following text I am going to analyse the previous quotations and I am going to find a connection among them. They have been extracted from Roberto Cotroneo’s Tweet di un Discorso Amoroso.
The first quotation deals with human beings’ interest on attraction; according to the writer human beings should be interested in distraction, indeed, if you distract someone you will understand how to attract his/her attention, that is attraction.
The second quotation maybe refers to the relativity. Measuring indeed, means choosing a measurement unit and compares it to the object you want to measure, that is making a relation, a comparison and expressing an evaluation, a measure of what you see: expressing your opinion.
In the third one, the reader notes immediately the word “intermittenza”, which is connected with the world of social network where, indeed, posts and messages are intermittent, fragmented, tweets. Modesty is intermittent, like the only human beings’ feeling and emotion in the web world (posts, instant picture..).
In the fourth quotation there is a comparison between memories and time, R. Cotroneo says that human beings never will take in their hands memories and time, indeed when you put your attention on memories because you want to remember something, (in particular something of yourself, of your conscience) you cannot and for example when you have a dead line and you try to organize your works, your days, it is impossible; because time never stops and the use of verb “indietreggiare” underlines the countdown of the date of the deadline and of the end.
The fifth quotation underlines the sense of life fragments. Life is fragments like the tweets of the social network, which reveals the essence of a human being according to R. Cotroneo, who tried to group his posts in a book. Literature reflect human beings’ thoughts: everyone reading gives meaning according to his/her personal experience, but where are the experiences? in front of a display?
The quotations are connected among themselves through the message which R. Cotroneo wants to give us: human beings are going to became “machines”, “executors”. They unlikely give meanings to something and their thoughts are fragments, not connected among them: “I can connect Nothing with nothing” (T.S. Eliot).
