Analogies between quotations
All of these quotations are taken from Roberto Cotroneo's book Tweet di un discorso amoroso, a collection of impressions, thoughts and aphorisms about life and love.
The first quotation is "Le regole dell'attrazione le cercano tutti. Ma sono le regole della distrazione le più interessanti e non le cerca nessuno". Its meaning is: distraction is something which attracts your attention from a right place to a wrong one. For this reason rules of distraction are the most interesting because people fall into them without awareness. On the other hand, attraction is something definite which represents people's research and it is the contrary of distraction because in this case people perfectly know what they want.
The second quotation is "Il senso della misura è incommensurabile, in questa modernità!". Maybe it refers to the ideals of Modernism in which "the sense of measure" does not exist but on the contrary it shows "the senses of measure" because in Modernism an universal knowledge is not permitted.
The third quotation is "Il pudore è un'intermittenza dello stile"; its aim is to connect style and people's ideas of knowledge and modesty.
The fourth quotation is "I ricordi indietreggiano sempre: come fa il tempo quando lo vai a cercare. Poi quando li metti con le spalle al muro, sanno raccontarti tutto". It is in contrast with the second quotation because it suggest a complete knowledge of people's existence.
The last quotation is "Ma del pericolo dell'anti-letteratura si è accorto qualcuno? E non è altrettanto grave?". It may be considered a warning because the writer directly appeals to the reader to make him realize and understand the importance of the action.
The quotations are connected from the point of view of the theme: the research; the research of rules of attraction or distraction in the first one, the research of measure in the second one, that of style in the third one and that of memories and time in the fourth one. The last one refers to the negative effects of the non-research: it may cause a dangerous effect on literature.
