Structure of a letter
1. Sender’s and addressee’s address
2. Date
3. Salutation (in a formal letter we find “Dear Mr/Mrs/Ms…” , in an informal letter we find “Dear Paul…”)
4. Content (it contains the narration of the events, the exposition of the problem, the reason for writing)
5. Conclusion (there are the greetings)
Two kinds of letter
1. Formal letter: it should be concise and in the correct linguistic form (it is addressed to professional people)
2. Informal letter: it should be similar to the spoken language (it is addressed to familiars or friends)
Layout of a letter
-Sender’s address and date must be written in the top right of the corner of the letter
-Addressee’s address is in the top left corner of the letter
-Signature must be put in the lower left corner of the letter
