This year Aude and Claire, two French girls, came to our school to attend the Italian school for three months. During this time they have been living with two Italian familes but they stayed with us in our classroom. The first thing we noticed is that they speak so softly that at first they thought we were always screaming! We so that they were also very quiet and respectful of the behaviour rules and they tried very hard to understand the lessons. At the biginning it was quite difficult to speak with them becuase they didn’ t know well Italian but, later on, it became easyer. They improoved their Italian every day but I think that even after more than one week it was still difficult to under stand the lessons: here in Italy, we do some subjects in a very different way from France and also the programs are different. If I had been them I think I would have had even more difficulties in attending a new school in a foreign country like France, for example. I believe that doing the same experience that Aude and Claire have done would be very intresting because let you to delve into a foreign culture. In fact now, our duty is to help our new friends to integrate in our county so that they can return back home knowing as much as they can about the Italian culture.
