On the first day of school we knew we would be twenty-three students; but when we entered the classroom we noticed there were twenty-five desks. The teacher told us that two French girls were going to join our class until the Christmas holidays, then they would have gone home. Their names are Claire and Aude, they are from Agen, a little city between Bordeaux and Toulouse, in the region of Aquitaine, in the south-west of France.

They seem to be very mature and reliable, in fact during the lessons they always listen to the teacher, they pay attention and they try to write some words they understand from the teacher's speech on their copybook. They say the schools in France are very different compared to the Italian's schools. Their system is very hard, and the teachers are stricter. Between each hour of lesson we can have a little break; instead they have to reach a new classroom to change subject and schoolteacher.

They are staying in two families, Claire in Torviscosa and Aude in Palmanova, which are hosting them for about three months. They come to school by bus and they don't partecipate at the lessons of physical education, technical drawing, sciences and religion.

Moreover these new two French friends are funny and talkative, then we try to speak French with them; we can communicate because Claire attended an Italian course, then she can speak it quite fluently with us. I hope they'll enjoy their journey in Italy .
