Textuality » 3A Interacting
We’ve got two French exchange students this year in our class. They are going to stay with us until December. Their names are Aude and Claire. They are kind but very shy, which is normal though when you go in a foreign country and you don’t know the language that is spoken very well. In class they try to understand the lessons, they are always quiet and very polite and do all the assignments that the teachers give them with care. They attend only some of the subjects that we have to study and in the hours that remain they do their French homework. They are both staying in students’ houses for the period they will be here in Italy and every morning they catch the bus. When you get to know them better, you can see that they are normal teenagers just like us and we have a lot in common a part from the language and probably their daily routine and what they normally eat at home in France. Between Aude and Claire, the one who is more outgoing is surely Claire, she has been studying Italian for only a year now, but she speaks very well, more than you would expect and you can have a very nice chat with her. I think it’s a great opportunity to get to know new people and discover new cultures. It’s also very instructive because to communicate we talk not only in Italian but also in English so we get the chance to improve it. I’m a bit sad that they will leave us after December, but I hope that we will keep in touch.
