Textuality » 3A Interacting
Aude and I, we integrate the high school for 3 months, in the beginning I was a little bit scared, because for Italians we are foreigners, we are “different”, and fo us it’s an unknown world, we were a little bit lost.
Because first of all, the high school in France is a bit different, for example Italians stay in the same classroom, in France it’s the students who have to move not the teacher. The school system is too a bit different, in France we don’t study Religion, and on the contrary it’s forbidden, because the school is “secular” all students must be equals. We don’t have lessons of story of the art, and finally we study philosophy just in last year of high school. The school in France is more “strict”, I noticed during lessons that students are always chatting, in France we must be seated, and don’t say a word. In Italy, all the mornings I’m late, but here, it doesn’t matter, teachers in France are more strict about delays.
Then with Aude, we noted that here students, their style of dress is based on the “practical”, girls are wearing sneakers, in France girls go to high school with high heels, and have a handbag for schoolbag, whatever if the books are heavy, they have to be beautiful. So here I am happy because I can wear my old Converse.
Finally I am happy to be here, even it’s still a bit difficult, because we would like to talk with our classmates, because they all seem really nice, and I’d like to know them better, because I am here to improve my Italian, but also to make friends and to learn about differences of each other.
And I’d like to tell thank you to Italians because they all have understand that it’s not easy for us, and they make the effort to come to see us, even if it’s just for say “ciao” or “come vai” it’s nice!
