From this letter the intelligent reader can understand that Macbeth is an insecure person . In front of a promise of power ( he will become king ) he doesn’t know what to do . The witches disappointed Macbeth because they said he will become thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland even if the actual King had two sons . In cause of this he sent a letter to his wife Lady Macbeth ( lady = a woman who has moral qualities , like intelligence , autonomy and determination ) and asked her what was best to act . The reader can understand that his wife has an important role in his life so she has a central position in the tragedy . The profecy concerned also Lady Macbeth because it told that Macbeth will become king , so his wife will become queen .This prophecy filled Macbeth’s mind so much that he wanted it to be true .
