MACBETH

After a battle won against the rebel King Duncan , the king of Scotland , decided to give to Macbeth who was the bravest man of the battle the title “Thane of Cawdor. While Macbeth and Banquo were coming back to his castle three witches appeared in front of him. These witches made a prophecy about their future and then disappeared. The prophecy predicted that Macbeth would became thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland and that Banquo’s sons were Kings after Macbeth. When he arrived at the castle a messenger told him that the King gave him the title Thane of Cawdor . Macbeth started to think the prediction was true so he sent a letter to his wife Lady Macbeth. Macbeth and his wife planned to kill King Duncan.

Macbeth invited the King at his castle to kill him. After the dinner the King went to bed and Macbeth was about to enter in the King’s room when he had a vision of a dagger in front of him. The vision gave bravery to Macbeth so he entered and killed him with a servant dagger. The next morning the court found the King assassinated and thought the servants killed him with their daggers. The king’s sons Donalbain and Malcolm felt in danger and escaped secretly from Macbeth’s castle.

After the escape of Donalbain and Malcolm Macbeth was crowned new King of Scotland. The prophecy became true. Macbeth became King but he was frightened that Banquo’s sons would be Kings. Macbeth decided to kill Banquo and his son while they were riding but Banquo’s son escaped. During a banquet in Macbeth honor the new King of Scotland saw Banqou’s ghost sitting at his place and started to scream to the ghost. Lady Macbeth said to the court to leave the King. Macbeth decided to visit the three witches the next morning.

In a cavern the three witches were chanting around a cauldron when Macbeth entered curious of his future. Ghosts appeared from the cauldron and told Macbeth to be afraid of Macduff , a thane of Scotland , that no man of woman born could kill him and he would be defeated when the wood around his castle would move against him.

In the countryside near Macbeth’s castle thanes , Malcolm and the English army were meeting. Malcolm ordered the soldiers to carry branches in front of them and to march against Macbeth’s castle. While Macbeth was preparing himself for the battle Lady Macbeth died and he ran into the battlements. Macbeth couldn’t believe the forest was moving. Macduff fought Macbeth and killed him because he was not born , he was cut from his mother’s dead body. Finally Malcolm was crowned King of Scotland.
