In the article on The Guardian “ A Crisis of Capitalism “ Riccardo Bellofiore focusses the attention on the financial problems affecting both Italy and in Europe.
The article appeared on the Guardian of Wednesday 21st of September 2011.
Right from the start the journalist deals with Italy as a case study.
The text is divided into 11 paragraphs. The first paragraph is interpretative and starts with a topic sentence quoting K. Marx.
More over the journalist says that haveing a clear economic and political idea of the situation of Italy is not possible and that Italain politicians are comedians as well as the Prime Minister is a joke. The thesis is presents is negative.
The second paragraph focusses the attention on the Italian situatio, the analysis of the euro zone problems. The Eurozone has a single currency but the spread is different in every state, and in addition it is not backed by political sovereignty. Now there not even a European budget so every nation has to cope with their different economic situation.
The journalists’ argumentations analyse the flows of the euro zone system.
The 1st point concerns the limits of euro zone (a single currency not backed by political guarantee), the 2nd is the central bank, the 3rd ithe absence of a significant European budget, and last but not least the flaws in E.B.C : the obsession of inflection, the tendency to raise the interest of one's state, the tendency of Germany to profit of southern Europe country situation( Greece, Spain, Italy ), and the austerity impost by Europe.
And what's more, China and USA have to help Europe because both states will pay an expensive cost if one of the country of South Europe would fail.
