Textual analysis of the letter
For analisis the letter purposes two parts: the first consists in the letter of Macbeth and the second in the thoughts of Lady Macbeth.
The letter is used by W.Shakespeare to create the context in wich Lady Macbeth is able to explain her opinions and ambitious so the reader can understand Lady Macbeth and the personality of Macbeth. Besides the letter tells Lady Macbeth that her husband has met the witches. The most important part of the letter is the ending because the reader can understand how much Lady Macbeth is important in the life of Macbeth.
The medieval tradition seems absent, because the woman here is as important as the man and Macbeth appears more interested in satisfying his wife's desire becoming of his king, than having a personal satisfaction. In the last two phrases the reader can also find a bit of servile instruction ( from the repetition of the word "greatness").
