SIDNEY- With a perfect penalty shot Alessandro Del Piero scored his first goal for Sydney F.C. yesterday, in the match against Newcastle Jets. The 37-old Italian player was celebrated by more than 35.000 fans who rushed to the Allianz Stadium for support their team. Unfortunately, the wonderful goal wasn’t enough to win, and Sydney lost the match.

“I’m happy because of the goal, but we lost the game so we aren’t satisfied.” said Del Piero after the match “It was a start, but we must keep in this way and improve every day. I dedicate the score to all Sydney supporters because they are wonderful and to my family”.

 

Alex Del Piero moved to Australia only one month ago, when was sold by Juventus F.C., and in a few time he has adapt to a new life. The Italian player said that he had decided to move in Australia to guarantee to his family a very good standard of living: “The last year I quit Juventus, when I played 19 years, and I left Torino. I chose Australia despites I have many transfer opportunities. Sydney F.C. had a great project and offered my a good agreement , so I accepted.”. “I didn’t came here because the money” keep Del Piero “In this country there are a lot of school chances for my children, and life here was great. My wife and I are very happy because of the city: Sydney is a big wonderful city, and Australians are very respectful and kind. Australian landscape are beautiful, and I want to discover all the country with my familiy. I chose Australia because his life proposal was the best that I received.” The world champion ended the interview with a wish: “I want to score more goals. I came here to win, and I hope that fans won’t be disappointed”.
