Hans Rosling's 200 Countries, 200 Years, 4 Minutes text analysis

The first part of the text is an introduction.  Hans Rosling explains his purposes and how he will reach them

The key part of his job is visualisation. He exploits a Cartesian graph to animate the data in real space. The language is straightforward, simple and not specific and words are followed by gestures in order to help the viewer understand.  He often uses repetition to help memorization and exploits colours, figures ad shapes. The bubbles used to represent states in the graph start moving year by year. The animation is evenly followed by Rosling's explanations. The explanations are brief and in a simple language and sometimes playful, they can be both technical explanations (that help understanding the graph) and historical ones (that concern some main facts happened between 1810 and 2009). The time is slowed down in order to give more information about the period concerned. Graphics are widely used to make explanations more interesting and clear. Hans Rosling ends with a brief conclusion.
