T.S.Eliot

Eliot's essay starts with this thesis: English is the best language to write
poetry! He wants to analyze  and to support this statement with
argumentation.

The first sentence is a neutral one: he gives the readers a thesis which
has no personal considerations. We find out personal opinions in the
following paragraphs: the body of an essay is made up of
argumentations to support the thesis. These argumentations connect
one paragraph to another one with grammatical punctuations (column)
and conjunctions.

In the second paragraph he does not focus his attention on the number of
the poets. He gives examples that England did not produce the
greatest poets. This is a support on the argumentation: he is not
interested in the quantity of the poets.

Then he says that English is a rich language because it has a large
vocabulary which was influenced by Germanic, Norman-French, Danish,
French and Latin, too.

Then he talks about the variety of elements of which English is made up.

In the last paragraph he says that influences change not only the
vocabulary and words, but the rhythm, which is an important element
in Poetry.
