Sue: have you heard the news? Ian and Monica have decided tom get married.

Mike: No way! Has he told his parents yet?

Sue: Yes, he told them last night.

Mike: when have they met?

Sue: They met last year.

Mike: Has she finished collage?

Sue: No, she hasn’t finished yet.

 

N°5

Monica: well, have you told your parents yet?

Ian: yes- I’ve already told them! Grand’s really pleased but my parents aren’t too hapy.

Monica: oh, dear. I’m so glad that my parents have just accepted the idea.

Ian: I’d really like to see you. Have you finished your work yet.

Monica: no, I haven’t finished it yet. It’s really difficult. Have you ever felt that you just can’t concentrate?

Ian: hold on a minute…

Monica: sorry to interrupt. I’ve just talked to your mum and dad and everything’s going to be OK. Oh, and give my love to Monica.

Ian: tanks, Gran! Did you hear that, Monica?

Monica: yes, I did. Listen-I’ll do my work tomorrow. We need to celebrate!

B yes, I’ve just talked to him. He phoned a minute ago.

2.   A When are you going to tidy your room?

B Mum, I’ve already done it. I did it an hour ago!

3.   A can I use the computer, Joe? I’ve just remembered – I have to send an email!

B Hang on. I haven’t finished checking my emails yet. I need five more minutes.

4.   A Oh, no! I haven’t done my homework yet!

B Well, it’s only 7 p.m. You can do it now.

A But my favourite TV programme has already started….

                   No, they haven’t. Not since Christmas day 1977

3     Who is still marred? Karen has been marred for two years.

4     Who is on holiday now? Jane has been on holiday since July.

            I’ve been a teacher for 25 years.

         4 How long have you lived in your house?

            I’ve lived in my house for 30 years.

         5 How long have you owned you car?

            I’ve owned my car since 2000.

         6 How long have you had your watch?

            I’ve had my watch for ten years.
