In this essay I’m going to explain the reasons why studying English abroad is good and useful, especially for students.

Firstly I think that if you live for a certain period  in a foreign country (whose mother language is English of course) you will see all the applications of the language in real life, so you will know the importance of English and when you’ll come back you will be more motivated in studying it. I mean, when finally someone goes abroad, he or she could see how everything  works and understand that without the language, communication would be impossible. And in a world that now goes to globalization, an essential element is to know the language that connects everybody. When teachers say that at school, usually students do not pay attention in it, and that’s why going abroad could be a great opportunity of waking up and starting thinking seriously about the future.

Secondly you improve significantly your vocabulary and your listening skills. Furthermore having a taste of different uses of the language will make you richer from a cultural point of view. At school, the range of words used is very little, and this experience provides everyone the possibility to have a wide range of vocabulary. Then, the whole world now can communicate and you can travel everywhere, going away makes you more open minded so that you will be ready for living in the world and not only in Italy or in your native country.

But for me, you must remember that you can’t do anything of the things I wrote previously if you don’t have at least a basic knowledge of English, you know, for example being able to ask someone indications, the name of the meals and so on. And this language level could be provided only by the schools, so before start travelling it would be intelligent to check your skills and decide if you need to improve a bit or you can easily go away without troubles.

In the end, I think that studying abroad English an irreplaceable experience that everybody should try once in their lives.
