How did the Druids differ from the military class? They don't go to war , nor pay tribute together with the rest; they have an exemption from military service and a dispensation in all matters. Induced by such great advantages, many embrace this profession.
How long did they study? They learn by heart a great number of verses; accordingly some remain in the course of training twenty years
Why did they write in Greek? Druids were able to read and write also Greek and Latin. They used Greek in contacts with other peoples, especially in trading and in transactions. In that period Greek was a universal language, like English for us nowadays.
What was their belief about souls? The Celts believed that their souls don't become extinct but it would pass in another body after death, and they think that men by this tenet are in a great degree excited to valour, the fear of death being disregarded.
What did they teach the young? Druids taught them about astronomy and about respecting the nature of things and the power of the natural elements they worshipped.
