STRUCTURE OF A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE

 

HEADING (title) : “An important mission”

→The heading has the function to capture the attention of the reader, so it shouldn’t  reveal the whole content of the article.

 

SUBHEADING : “The advent of Christianity in Great Britain”

→The function of the subheading is to give further information about the content of the article.

 

1st PARAGRAPH → The function of the first paragraph is to give information about the entry of Christianity in Great Britain.

 

2nd PARAGRAPH → The function of the second paragraph is to inform about the impact of a monotheistic  cult on polytheistic ones.

 

3rd PARAGRAPH → The third paragraph has the function to explain how Christianity could merge into polytheistic cults.

 

4th PARAGRAPH → The fourth paragraph has the function to give information about the organization of the spread of Christianity.

 

5th PARAGRAPH → The function of the fifth paragraph is to illustrate how Christianity spread over Anglo-Saxon lands.

 

6th PARAGRAPH → The sixth and last paragraph is the conclusion of the article.
