Textuality » 4ALS Interacting
Now I am going to understand what impressions do the video and the two articles give about Italy.
The video is a stereotype about Italy and it reports exaggerates peculiarities about our country: for example it provides us only images about our cuisine, our cinema and our disasters like the wreck of Costa Concordia.
The first article is from The Guardian, its title is “Matteo Renzi wins Italian senate backing for his coalition government” and it reports current events about our politics.
Moreover it has an objective style and it reports our politics' news without giving any judge.
The second article is from The New York Times, its title is “New Italian Premier, in First
Speech, Outlines Early Priorities for His Tenure” and as told by the title is about Mr. Renzi's first speech in Parliament.
Both the articles have an objective style and contain some quotations of politicians and a political commentators like Marco Damilano and Stefano Manzocchi.
In conclusion, the video gives a negative impression about Italy because of the use of stereotypes and exaggerations, on the contrary, the two articles tell objectively Mr. Renzi's win and our political situation without giving any judge.
