In his monologue Hamlet gives voice to the difficult doubts he has in front of life. His question is whether to continue to exist or not, whether to suffer "the slings and arrows of an outrageous fortune" or to decide to fight against pain and problems. So, Hamlet does not know if to die or to continue to live. The question is therefore to live or not to live, to be or not to be. Hamlet has the desire to escape from pain, he takes into consideration the possibility to die. If death is compared to sleep he could forget every problem. On a second thought Hamlet understands that when he sleeps he may dream but dreams may turn into nightmares. People are stuck because they do not know what there is after death. Hamlet's is the doubt of the modern man.
The tragedy of Hamlet is the expression of frustration in front of man's moral evil and man arrives at the realization that only by total self - destruction man can have the cancellation of the past and the establishment of a new order.
Hamlet is not a hero.
Hamlet and the man of today are cowards. People do not put an end to their lives because they do not know what there is after death and prefer to continue to suffer knowing what to expect.
So Hamlet is telling to every reader that every one in his own life needs a moment to turn off what happens around him and to take refuge in his thoughts. It is a moment you need to rest yourself from the hard of life.
Every one in his life has his troubles and problems but this is not a reason to give up in front of life.
