THE CLOSET SCENE
In this scene Hamlet speaks to his mother. He shows her two pictures: one is his father's picture, one is his uncle's picture.
The dialogue is very long. There is a frequent use of imperative because Hamlet is very angry with his mother and he uses a very aggressive tone. In addition Hamlet compares the differences between the two characters. He accuses his mother to forget his father. He tells to his mother the good qualities of his father.
The uses of rhetorical question underlines Hamlet's idea that his mother is unable to distinguish the real qualities of the two men. In addition Hamlet cannot accept that his mother may love Claudius.
Besides being an adolescent, he thinks that at his mother's age passion should have disappeared.
