1) ANTICIPATION OR CONJECTURE ABOUT THE TITLE:
The title is a personification, where a word is comparated to a human been. The possible content of the text is the life of a word, so the reader, in a first moment, may wander why the word is dead.
2)LAYOUT ANALYSIS :
The layout shows that is a poem, organized into six lines arranged into two terset. It follows that the reader might be interested in discovering the function of the single terset.
3) ANALYSIS OF THE STRUCTURAL LEVEL :
The speaking voice in the first terset is in the third person .
Instead in the second terset the speaking voice is in the first person and expresses a totally different opinion. It goes without saying that the structure of the poem conceives of to give a different opinion about the life of a word . Indeald the function of the first terset is to convay a point of views of the common people wich is the opposite of the second one, of the poet.
4) DENOTATIVE ANALYSIS :
The content of the text is an argomentation about the life of a word. The common people says that when somebody speaks, as soon as a word is sad, it dies; the poet says that the beginnin of the life of a word occurs in the moment in which it is pronounced .
5)CONNOTATIVE ANALISI :
The poet plays  fair more with the sound of the words. There is a linguage deviation and there are many brakes . In the first line the reader can see a personification which compared a word to a human been .
