I FIND NO PEACE
The tytle makes the rader wander why the speaking voice cannot find peace.
The expression "no peace" is important because it comunicates the idea of an absolute negation. What is being negletted? Peace has been demied,
the poet uses the verb " to find " to employ that he has been looking for peace but he cannot find it. The T.W's choice to use an absolute negation in the first line makes it's meaning stronger.
T.W attempt to translate Petrarch, one of the most important writer during the Renaissance. He find out that italian litterature
bases the rhythm on the number of sillables, while the english one bases the rhythm on the stress of the sillables.
The sonnet consists of four stanzas and there are two quatrains and two terset. Mr T.W tried to keep Petrarca's layout and for this reason
he uses spaces betwees the stanzas, therefore the poet seems long, but at the same time it seems to be equilibrate.
The first stanza shows a parallelism between the two lines "I find, I fear, I fly".
The english poet resorts to an anaphoric structure in the second and in the third line.
The effect on the reader is to underlay himself, while on the oter hand it underlines the pain he feels.
PS: In the first line of T.W's sonnet the verb is on affermative forme while Petrarca uses negation.
