She Dwelt Among The Untroddon Ways.
Anticipation of the title: the lady maybe lives in a distant place and nobody knows her.
The poem is ARRANGED into three stanzas and every stanza has a function:
-First stanza: INTRODUCTION
The writer introduces her from an external point, she lives in a distant place and few people knows her.
-Second stanza: DEVELOPMENT LUCY'S PERSONALITY
The poet compares the girl with a violet,hidden by the musk. The poet gives a judgement and tells the reader that she was really nice looking and she reminded a star, a special star, when only one star is shining in the sky: she was so precious.
The function of this stanza is to give the reader a po9sitive idea of the girl, throught the expression of her personality that makes of her a rare creature.
-Third stanza: RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE POET AND LUCY
The speaking voice tells the reader that only few people had the opportunity to meet her.
Now she is dead and the poet miss her so much, her death makes a great difference from him.
Connotative analysis.
The rhyme in this poem is coupled and the assonance creats Eco Effects.
The poet uses a metaphor to compare her to a violet hidden from the eye, to say that she is a little and shy girl who lives in a distant place where few people see her.
The poet uses also a simile to describe her, she is like a special star that shines alone in the sky, this means that the lady is special because she is rare and precious and few people could appreciate her.
Conclusion.
This poem is sad and nostalgic and it makes reflect the reader about the special people in his/her life that not everybody can appreciate.
