The connotative analysis :

The poem conveys the feelings of solitude and homesickness. The feelings are expressed by a person who loved a girl that lived in a lonely place and who later died.

The poet suggests that waisting time is dangerous and can lead to failure . The poet has waited but he has done nothing to meet her love.

Other feelings suggested by the poem are purity, shyness and these are the features of the young maid, who has always lived in the wood, without meeting anybody .
