A Word is Dead


1) Considering the title, the reader may be curious to find out why a word is dead. The title can suggest that the “Word” is a persification. The title of the text coincides with the first line of the text.


2) The poem is organized into two tercet. It fallows that the reader may be intrested to understand the meaning of each terset.


3) First terset: in this terset the speaking voice tells that for some person, when a word is said, it is die.

Second tercet: in this terset, the speaking voice tells his opinion, that is that when a word is said, it begin to live.


4) In this text, the poet tells us that there are two opinion about when a word is said. The first is the idea of the biggest side of the word. The second is unusual, and it is a idea principally of poets. It suggest that is important how to speak, because when a word enter in the soul of someone, it begin to live.
