"The Rainbow"
My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
I could wish my days to be
 Bound each to each by natural piety.

Analysis:
When the reader reads the title he aspects the topic of the text makes hapiness because the rainbow is colored so it creates pleasure. The rainbow takes place when it must has rain and the sun crosses the wet sky. The title doesn't so many aspectations because it is very simple so the reader is eager to read the text.
It is a poem and it is arranged in four stanzas with different lines. There is a parallelism between the first and the third stanza: they have two lines.
In the first stanza the poet tells the reader wherever he looks the rainbow his heart leaps up. The poet writes in the first person but he doesn't the narrator. In the first two lines the speaking voice explains immediatly the importance of the rainbow in his life. It makes him pleasure and emotions.
In the second stanza the speaking voice tells us that this event always happens since he was born and it is so important that he prefer die than not seeing the rainbow. It is an element so important to survive. The punctation between the first and second stanza has an important fuction because the colon introduce an argouments to support the thesis: why the rainbow is so important. The lines 3-4-5 begin with the word “so” that suggests the frequency of the event.
In the third stanza the speaking voice explains the importance capacity of the children with a paradox (“ The child is father of the Man”). Indeed when the man will be old he loses the ability to emotion by simple things. When you're a kid you have a low rationality. The adults lose the ability to emotion but the narrator wants to keep this habit for a lifetime because it creates him the pleasure.
The last stanza is organized in one line. The adjective natural connects with the rainbow because it is a natural element. Indeed the speaking voice fells emotions looking at a natural landscape.
The message of this poem is to maintain the ability to feel emotions with the symple things.
