The Miller was one of the thirty pilgrims of the Canterbury tales: The Canterbury tales is a narrative poem/ a work by Geoffry Chaucer. In his narrative poem Chaucer represented characters or stereotypes using the structure of the three orders of medieval society. The Miller, is a stereotypical representation of a dishonest man. His physical characteristics are a reflection of his personality and temperament. In the description the miller is represented in a ridicules view. the miller has a powerful physique but he is described so ridiculous. Indeed he is described by derogatory words as “Broad, knotty” or “”his beard was red like any sow or fox”. The miller belongs to the middle class. The Miller is quite an expert in stealing grain.
