Jhon Damn writes an argumentative form of poetry, metaohisical poetry,which refears to the relationship between mind and body. The test i'm going to analize is an invitation not to be sad, so the intelligent reader suddently wanders why a persona invite somebody else to not mourn. He uses the image of the compass to say that : to have a perfect relationship it is not necessary physical proximity, and that man must turn around the woman. Infact, the circle metaphorically alludes to perfection. John Damn introduces an innovation : he put into his texts words from the semantic fields of science, geography, phisic and astronomy.
