John Milton. "Paradise Lost"
Milton is cnsidered the second only to Shakespeare; poetry is best represented by Milton, he is the mouth speaker of puritans mentality, anpther important figure was John Donne and wrote metaphysical poetry.
Whay makes a uritan celebrate Satan? The metter is that Satan is the hero of the "Paradise Lost" (loose: when you lose something that was yours), the reason is that Milton put Satan at the centre of his investigation because he made a sin: he was proud (pride: UNC., proud adj.) because he didnot accept the place hye was assignet to, he wanted to rule not to follow.
"Paradise Lost" is an epic poem, it is a form of poetry because it tells a story. Satan expreses best of the others characters the weakness of human being, Milton did not accept the idea of weakness, the idea that we are limitate. Satan was sett in Hell because he did not accept God's limitations. The hero taht Milton presented is not kore a warrior but more philosophical hero, Satan showes the charactyeristics of the hero: leadership, courabe and also awareness.

Satan with the rebel angles was urled down into a dreadful world, Satan compares the new world to Heaven and feel lost because he can see that nothing is like Heaven, he describes Hell as a "region", to show that he lost all to have just a part, "a mournful gloomy" were there is no other than dark. Later Satan accepts the situaion: Hell and Heaven are just state of mind so he could make the Hell an Heaven. Satan embodies the rebel against authority; as Milton and the struggles of the others defenders of liberties, against a dispotic king.
