-          The Great Chain of Being: the world is organized according to a divinely hierarchical order; the theory of “correspondences” retains that order is reflected on various things; during the period disorder is more evident than order and human life is ambiguous, unlike the precise vision of the great chain of being.

-          Political changes: establishment of political aims and central governments; Monarchies in the Northern Europe and city-states in Italy.

-          Humanism: based on dignity of humans and the chance of human life.

-          Imitations: recover languages, genres and models of classical culture.

-          Reformation: religious movement of the protestants against the corrupted Church authority; Bible translated in different languages.
