ARGUMENTATIVE TEXTS
In an argumentative text the writer explains his point of view about a topic. The text supports the point of view through a chain of reasoning linked and supported by data. The purpose is to persuade, to convince others that the idea is credible. The argumentative text presents a thesis supported by data and argumentations used to persuade the reader.
The data are qualitative and quantitative.
An argumentation could be oral or written.
While in the poetry genre the interpretations are relatives, in the argumentation there is an objective vision. The informations don't convey any emotions.
The topic phrase resumes the text and it is usually uses at the beginning of the text.
The paragraphs are:
THE INTRODUCTION: it introduces the text
THE MAIN BODY: the writer explains his concepts and his argumentations.
THE CONCLUSION: it is the last paragraph in which the writer gives a personal opinion.
