Halloween is a famous Celtic festivity. In the 5th century BC they belived that summer ended on the 31st of October. At the end of October people could see their harvest.
This festivity was called Samhain and with this day started the winter. Cristian also decided to call November 1st “All Hollows Day” or “All Saints Day”.
For the Celtic on this date the spirits of dead people came back and entered in the body of a new person or animal.
The symbol of this festivity is pumpkin within a candel, some people also make a lantern.
Irish people put lit on their windows and in their garden to frighten evil spirits away.
On Halloween people usually wears scared costums like monsters, witches or skeletons. Children go around the city to ring the bell. Then if a a person open the door children say “trick or treat?”. So you can decide to get some sweets or money or to receive a trick.
