First of all, an intelligent reader should analize the title, that makes conjectures and anticipations on the text. The title opens an horizon of the possible content of the text.
Then, an intelligent reader should analize the lyout that is useful to find out the text type and to have a clear view of its organization.
After that, he should read the text to find out about its denotative level, so understand the text.
Then, he should analize the connotative level that is divided into the phonological level (for example assonance, consonance, run online,…); the semantic level (to analize word’s fields); the syntactic level (the words order); the rhetorical level (for example metaphors, similes,…) and finally, he could make the conclusion.
