The celtic culture developed throughout the British Isles from 600 B.C to 50 A.D (Iron age).
The celts were tribes of barbarians warriors that shared a similar language, religion and culture; they moved in Britain between the 550 and 100 B.C and they brought the iron-working that helped the trade in the isles.
To defend themselves the celts built hill forts ( consisted of a ditch and a bank); a celtic tribe was made up of clans (that was like today’s family), the clan lived in a hut made of timber.
The celts were good farmers: when they weren’t fighting they usually practised agricolture using the iron plough, a new weapon that made the cultivation of the soil easier, the women were doing almost the same things of the men, in facts they could fight and they could also choose the man they wanted to marry.
