The Romans encouraged the growth of towns near army bases and established special towns as settlements for retired soldiers. They persuaded the ruling class of Celtic aristocratic to build town dwelling. The center of the Roman town was t he forum. Every town had public baths and the towns were joined together with roads and bridges. The first bridge of London was the 'London Bridge', which dived the territory in two parts, one of that called Londinium.
