I think the Great War was an historical event which brought to the death of millions of innocent people. Indeed, young soldiers coming from different lands were compelled to fight against other soldiers and kill them because of economic and political affairs which didn’t regard them directly. In addition, also innocent people like children and old people, who didn’t take part actively in the warfare became its victim since every war doesn’t spare anyone.

As regards women’s involvement in the Great War, I think that even if they didn’t take part actively in the war they played an important role. Indeed women helped soldiers providing them the necessary resources to survive: food, water and medical attention. Besides, without the presence of men, they had to take care of the family, in particular paying attention on the children and old relatives. Therefore they became more responsible towards the family.
