My perception about the First World War

I don’t know much about the First World War: the few thing I know about this event I learned it at school or reading books. The First World War is one of the most important facts in history from 194 when Franz Ferdinand was assassinated to 1918 when German signed an armistice. In my opinion the First World War is an historical event fought by soldiers on the front to try to save their homeland. This war was very costly from the point of view of physical and psychological aspects as well as it completely changed the lives of soldiers and their wives in the meantime worked at home.
