School rules
Most peole agree that you can't make a person do something if he or she doesn't really want to do it. Does this mean, however, that we should let young peole do whatever they choose? Complete freedom sounds like a good idea, but it can also make people feel confused. On the other hand, if you want them to understand what is suitable behaviour, then a set of rules is probebly necessary. A good set of rules in a school, for example, will let the students know what is allowed, and why. And if you want them to obay the rules, it is a good idea to let the students play a part in deciding ehat the rules should be.
