One of the best weekend I've ever spent was in 2013. It was summer, precisely August and I was having a one-week holiday with my parents and my brother Francesco,that was 11 years old at that time. On Saturday we rented a cabriolet and we went visiting Taormina, a beautiful city situated in the south of the island. I remember that while we were going to Taormina, I was feeling good and relaxed: I had never been in a cabriolet before and I could feel the summer breeze on my tanned skin and admire the light blue sea at the same moment. We visited all the city and its main tourist attractions. I really enjoyed the Roman Amphitheater and the pastry shop (just to let you know, I am a tireless lover of sweets and Sicilian sweets are so delicious!).
On Sunday we went to Isola Bella and then, by boat, to Grotta Azzurra and Grotta Della Conchiglia. It is something typical to ask a fisherman to take you and visit these two superb caves. They usually ask you less money than the organized trips, in which you can see the caves only from outside, with a lot of people taking photos and in a big and modern boat. Contrariwise, fishermen can take you with their small boat inside the caves, which are really suggestive and romantic. It was one of the best experience I have ever done, that will be etched in my mind for the rest of my life.
