"I find no peace" written by Thomas Wyatt and inspired by "Pace non trovo" by Petrarch is a sonnet because the 14 lines are arranged into two quatrains (that create an octave) and two tercets (that create a sestet) following the Petrarchan model: (8+6=14) ---> (4+4)+(3+3). The first quatrain introduces the topic that will be described in the sonnet. This quatrain highlights the subject with the repetition of the personal pronoun "I". The speaking voice, expresses an inner conflict throught a list of oxymorons (peace-war/ fear-hope/burn-freeze/..). This choice, of using oxymorons, wants to convey the struggle of the poet who is looking for peace and serenity. The second quatrain, is characterized by the use of the sound "-eth" that is used for indicate the third singular person. In the first tercet, as the first quatrain, there is the repetition of the personal pronoun "I" that puts again the narrator in the position of protagonist. In the last lines, he puts love for others and hate for himself. The second and last tercet is in relation to the second quatrain and, using the pronoun "me", he puts himself in a position of passivity respect to what happens in the whole composition. In this last tercet, there is the use of oxymorons (laugh-pain/ death-life) that refers the inner state of the poet.
