- A Who belongs this bag to?
B It looks like Tony’s. I think it’s his.
A Yes, it is. It has his name on it.
- A Hello, Luke. How’s your holiday? You’re in Scotland, aren’t you?
B Oh, we have a great time! It’s such an interesting and beautiful place. We are enjoying ourselves a lot here.
A It sounds wonderful. We are thinking of going there next year actually.
- A Do you know who that guy is over there? He is looking out of the window.
B No, I am not recognizing him. he seems nice, though. Let’s go and say hello.
- A I like your new haircut. I really suit you.
B Thanks. But I hate it. It is too short.

Hi Giovanni,
Isn’t it nice to be away from school? I love holidays! I hope you’re enjoying yours, too. We’re in Egypt! My family and I are having a magical time in Sharm el Sheikh on the Red Sea. It’s so beautiful here! The sea is a deep blue, and the water feels so warm. I go snorkelling every day. I want to learn scuba diving, too, but that depends on my dad. He is thinking it’s very safe, but actually, that’s because he is afraid of water. It’s frustrating, but I guess he is careful.
Anyway, I am thinking of coming back here by myself when I finish school next year. Why don’t you come with me?
Ex. 1 page. 38
- A I’m here to see Mr. Smith.
B Please, take a seat. I’ll tell him you are here.
- A Don’t forget it’s Andy’s birthday on Friday.
B Yes, I know. I’ve got him a present already.
- A Can you tell me how to get to Mr. Jones’s office?
B Follow me. I’ll take you there.
- A What shall we do, Miss.
B All of you open the book at page 42 and do exercise 3.
- A I’ll never pass my exams. It’s all so difficult.
B Calm down. You’ll be fine.
- A Sssh! Be quiet. There’s an exam in the class next door.
B I didn’t realize. Sorry.
- A That music’s too loud. Turn it down.
B OK, sorry.
- A Everyone listen carefully. We’re having a surprise party for Jenny on Saturday. Don’t let Jenny find out, OK?
B Don’t worry, we won’t tell her.
- A The taxi is waiting. Hurry up!
B Hang on, I’ll be there in 30 seconds.
- A Mum, I’m going to the party now.
B OK. Have fun!

To get to my house, go out of the school and turn left. Go past the sport centre and go straight on at the crossroad. Go over the bridge and then turn right. Don’t take the path immediately after the bridge – that goes along the railway line. Take the second left, then turn right again and my house is number 42, on the left.
Call me if you get lost.

- A Who does this bag belong to? Does anyone know?
B Yes, I think it’s Karen’s. I remember seeing her with it earlier.
- A Mmm, something smells delicious! What are you making?
B Vegetable soup. All the vegetables come from my sister’s garden.
A How lovely! Does she grow a lot in her garden?
B Yes, she does. She gives me lot because she doesn’t need them all. Anyway, do you want some soup?
A Yes, please!
- A What are you doing?
B I’m measuring the room to see how much paint we need to decorate it.
A Oh, I see.
B OK, it measures five metres by three metres. I imagine that’s about ten litres of paint – so about four big tins. One big tin costs about 15£, I think.
A Well, it depends on the type of paint. Some types are cheaper than others.
