The play Hamlet was composed by William Shakespeare. The story was sit in the 18th century in Elsinore in Denmark.
The tragedy is divided in five acts and this acts is divided in scenes, the first act is organise in five scenes, the second act consist in two scenes, the third act is arrange into four scenes, the fourth act in seven scenes and the last act in two scenes.
The setting of the first act is varied indeed in the first scene the narration is located in a platform before the castle, in the second scene the actors are located in a room of state castle, in the next scene they are in a room in Polonius house and the last two scene take palette in the platform.
In the story line of the first act appear a lot of characters, the first are Marcellus, Francisco and Barnardo they are the members of the king's guard, after enters the scene Horatio, friend and confident of Hamlet. Other characters that come into play are Claudius that is the king of Denmark and Hamlet' uncle and Gertrude the mother of Hamlet and queen. The last characters which appear are Polonius the councillor of state, Laertes Polonius's son and Ophelia is Polonius's daughter.
The most significant event is the appearance of the ghost, this ghost is the king Hamlet, the father of Hamlet, who has came to claim his death. This event crates a lot of curiosity in the reader and makes he want to continue reading.
The intelligent reader understand that the choice to play the night indeed just show up the morning the ghost disappears and because the night is connected with death, death creates mystery, Shakespeare then you want to try to entice the reader to understand who is the murderer.
