Hamlet is a Shakespeare's tragedy, It consists of five acts that are organised into several scenes.
The tragedy takes place in Elsinor: the court of the Denmark's king. In the first act the space is outdoor and indoor, expacialis in the castle, outside and in the Polonious' hause.
The first scene takes place outside the castle, in a platform where the tragedy opens with a dialogue between Francisco and Bernardo (two soldiers).
They have just seen a ghost that had the same features of Hamlet: the previous king and Hamlet's father.
The second scene strarts in the palace during a reunion. King Claudius authorises Laertes to go to France to fight and his wife Gertrude tries to convince Hamlet to stay there and not go to Wittemberg. When they go away, arrives Orathio on the stage. He warns his friend about the vision of the ghost in the night.
The third scene opens in Polonius' hause when his son Laertes talks with his sister Ophelia about Hamlet.
In the four scene Orathio, Hamlet, Bernardo and Francisco go out to the platform to wait for the ghost.
When it comes, in the last scene, he wants to speak alone to his son. Hamlet understands that his father is poison by his brother Claudius and not biten by a snake.
Shakespeare uses this dark atmosphere of the night on the stage to creat curiosity to the audience, so they want to stay at the theatre and wacht the end of the play.
