Changez is a round character who tells about his American experience. At first he has some dreams and ideas about America. He thinks America is the land of opportunities and is very enthusiastic to move there. Once in America he begins to conform himself like American people. He is adapting himself to the place he lives. After the World Trade Attack things start changing. People don’t look at him the same way. They treat him like a foreigner who could make something bad. He is not integrated anymore. Returning at Pakistan for a journey something changes in him. He starts seeing America in the right way, he notices that people don’t treat him like before the attack and he starts missing his mother land.

Changez comes from Pakistan, a land colonized by England. There, people learn English and are forced to use it in every occasion. Moshin Hamid choose to make Changez tell events with this language to reach more people but also to retest colonizer’s instrument against them. This helps emphasizing events. At the end of the narration Changez completes his interior changing. He becomes aware of American people and he understands that he can’t live there peacefully. He is forced to move back to his country.
